Since the launch of the fourth campaign, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a exciting storyline including divine entities, demons, and malevolent powers increasing in power within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Key plot points for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Warrior Group Revealed
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of adventurers who will split off from the central cast to undertake their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Dividing the Cast
Given an extensive roster, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be impossible.
That’s why, the initial installments of the new season serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Planners, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven gameplay experience where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might seem mismatched, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
Casimir of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, assaulting Thimble, and taking all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his liabilities and fled to a secure base in the remote area, north of the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to exit the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the close ally and best friend, seeks revenge.
- Kattigan is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a hostile place.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his family’s wishes to execute the target and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- Yet, their status as important members in the powerful family could assist the group reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor vowed a life debt to Wicander for his deliverance and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer defied the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- Teor is wanted dead by the clan.
This leaves them few options but to head to the northern region in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we discover that the Soldiers table will be absent in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to form the Explorers and Planners groups.
