The older brother of the Seaside town killer said his parents "lost control" of their son and he worried his family member would fatally harm a member of their family, a hearing has been told.
Axel Rudakubana, then 17, murdered three kids at a pop music-inspired lesson on July 29, 2024.
The hearing, conducted at Liverpool Town Hall, learned the attacker's brother the older brother informed a acquaintance there was a risk of his brother "committing an act deadly."
The inquiry was told Dion told his contact over the Discord messaging app: "Confrontations are scary because of the risk of loss of life."
Dion stated his relative was similar to the psychopathic killer in the film the Coen brothers film.
Rising Hostility
The hearing heard he was identified with a neuromuscular disorder at the age of 12 which led to him using a wheelchair and his family offering greater support.
When asked by the lawyer, attorney, if that altered their dynamic he stated: "There was tension that emerged."
Dion agreed his relative seemed to dislike this development.
He revealed to the inquiry that after the household relocated from the Welsh capital to their new location his sibling's temperament deteriorated and he would have "physical explosions."
The hearing heard the brother became "increasingly wary" of his sibling, who would physically assault him frequently.
He said: "I needed to be careful if I did speak to him because each conflict could turn into an confrontation."
'Real worries'
Dion revealed his sibling became increasingly physical after he was dismissed from Range High School in Formby, Merseyside, in that period.
The sibling went to college in that year and the brothers communicated rarely "because he was not familiar with having me around."
The hearing was informed of a note he messaged a friend on the service in which he said his sibling was angered by him having conversations after dark because of the limited soundproofing in their residence.
He also told his friend there was a danger of "him doing something potentially fatal."
He said: "The fights are scary because of the threat of loss of life."
Mr Boyle inquired: "You had serious fears that your brother would fatally harm a individual of your household?"
He answered: "Should situations worsen to that level."
The counsel questioned how his family reacted to the perpetrator's aggression.
"It was pointless to try and punish him," he stated. "Also, there was a serious threat in proceeding that way.
"We discussed there was a general risk to well-being in general conversation, if you attempt to challenge him... it would not end well."
When questioned if his family had lost control of his brother, he concurred.
Questioned regarding his brother being similar to a persona from the film the Coen brothers film, he explained: "It was said that persona's supposed to be a sociopath and that's why I chose that description there."
Dion testified the final contact he had with his sibling was in the warmer months of that year.
He confirmed that their parents told the perpetrator to take leave to him as he was going to meet his friends and his sibling hurled an object at him but the exit was secured before it made contact.
The hearing continues.
